Bathroom Basins

When designing or remodeling bathrooms, you must select which type of bathroom basin to use. When it comes to bathroom basins, there are many different options available on the market. You can choose to use wall wash basins, semi-recessed wash basins, under mount cloakroom basins, or basic vanity basins. Additionally, all of these options are available with one or three tap holes, which will determine what type of tap you need to purchase. Here, we will look at each of your options when it comes to bathroom basins, and why they might work for you.

Wall Wash Basins

Wall wash basins are bathroom basins that are fixed to a wall with the use of special brackets. These basins do not require any vanities beneath them, and are the best option if you don't have a lot of space for your bathroom basin. In order to cover up the plumbing pipes below the basin, you can opt for a pedestal wash basin or a basin that has a shroud on it. You can even find wall wash basins that fit into a corner if you have no room at all for a bathroom basin.

Semi-Recessed Wash Basins

These types of wash basins have recently become quite popular, especially in bathrooms where a full depth vanity will not work. With these basins, half of the basin sits on a vanity, and the other half hangs in front of it. Therefore, you have a full sized sink, but you also have the much needed extra floor space below it. If your bathroom is on the smaller side or you just don't want or need a lot of vanity storage space, you can purchase a thinner vanity with a semi-recessed wash basin.

Under Mount Cloakroom Basins

In order to get clean, rich looking bathrooms, you can choose to use under mount cloakroom basins. These bathroom basins are fixed from the underside of a countertop, which gives a clean look to your countertop. With these types of basins, you most likely need to use some type of natural or artificial stone for you counter top, as the hole for the sink will be seen from all angles. For a rich look, install a nice granite countertop with a ceramic under mount cloakroom basin.

Vanity Basins

Vanity basins are essentially bathroom basins that are designed to directly fit into a vanity countertop. These basins are not utilized on their own, as they do need a vanity and a countertop in order for them to be used properly. Vanity basins are readily available in many different designs and style, and they can be found made from numerous different materials. You could use a vanity basin that sits on top of a countertop for a more modern design, or you could simply select a self rimming basin which fits into a hole that is cut into the countertop.

As you can see, there are many different options available when it comes to bathroom basins. No matter whether your bathroom is designed to be contemporary or traditional, you can find a beautiful bathroom basin that will fit your design needs.
